Darjeeling First Flush teas are the produce from the first harvest of the year, immediately after the spring rains, between end February and mid April. Darjeeling First Flush is also known as Spring Teas, as it is harvested during this period are light in appearance with a brisk flavour, often more greenish, but generally having a light yellow cup colour, with delicate flowery aroma and mild astringency. Autumn Flush Teas

Autumn Flush Darjeelings are harvested after the heavy rains of the monsoons, during the autumn months of October and November. The autumn teas are more robust and full-bodied with darker colour, but with a distinct copper tinge and delicate flavour than the First and Second Flush teas.

Second Flush Teas

The Second Flush teas, also referred to as the Spring Flush, are harvested from May to mid July after the First Flush but before the heavy rains of the monsoon season. The Second Flush Darjeeling is characterized by its amber appearance and a slight fruity taste with strong muscatel flavour. Full bodied and bolder in flavour than the First Flush teas, they are milder than most black teas. The teas harvested during the monsoon months of July to September are generally clubbed along with this seasons teas and are characteristically the strongest of the years produce with a strong flavour and brightness.
