Tea Brewing Tips:
Bring fresh water to a boil. Rinse the teapot with hot water to warm the vessel. Add 1 teaspoon of tea leaves per cup into the teapot. Pour the freshly boiled water into the teapot and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir well and then pour through a strainer into your cup.

Mr. Refresh Ideas Location: India Would you recommend this product? Yes | 5 out of 5 | I now understand why there are so many fans of Darjeeling out there...a damn fine black tea! Rebecca’s Teaview: 9/10 Not being a big Darjeeling connoisseur myself, I’m doing my best to learn what qualifies as that sought-after ‘muscatel’ taste experience. And I’m pretty sure this tea is a perfect example of why there are so many Darjeeling fans out there! Golden Tips Tea’s Pride of Darjeeling Rare 2nd Flush tea has most definitely been the standout Darjeeling from their selection – and the best of the many Golden Tips Teas I’ve reviewed to date. The dark dry leaves include some nice gold tips throughout, so expectations are set early on for a high quality brew. And after steeping 1 tsp of leaves at boiling for 3 minutes, my bright, gold liquor shimmers in the sunlight. The aroma is simply intoxicating – wonderfully rich caramel and vanilla scents draw me in. And the taste doesn’t disappoint. I’m getting some hints of that sweet, grape ‘muscatel’ flavor but it’s so well balanced with those richer vanilla notes and an amazingly buttery texture, that it doesn’t overpower. In fact, I would have no problem comparing this to dessert wines made with muscatel grapes, it’s that smooth and balanced. A bit of astringency on the tip of the tongue gives it a nice brisk quality, but there’s no bitterness and I’m left with a clean finish in my mouth. Several cups later, this tea has a very addictive taste and texture that makes me realize why there are so many fans of Darjeeling teas out there…and if you’re one of them, you should give this tea try. | |

If this is what you crave for in your darjeeling, I would certainly give this tea a try Review By TEA EXPERT: Shaiha RATINGS: 9.1/10 COMPLETE TEA REVIEW: Ever had one of those days where your pep just seems to have deserted you and then you realize that you haven’t had any tea yet to wake it up. Yeah it has really has been one of those days so I decided that I needed to stop, brew up some tea and write up a review. Lately I have been on a darjeeling kick so I couldn’t resist when we had some come up for review. This tea is one of the best offerings from the world’s most famous tea growing region, aptly named ‘Pride of Darjeeling’. I was disappointed when an estate where it was grown or even a year was mentioned. Though I do have admit that I do tend to really prefer the 2nd flushes. The aroma is grassy with a deep winey texture to it. The leaves are smaller and gently curved upon themselves. They range in color from a sprinkling of pure gold to a dark brown. I set them up to brew using a rounded tablespoon of leaves to four cups of water to a steep time of four minutes. The liquor is the rich reddish brown of a good darjeeling. And the aroma is wonderful! They weren’t kidding about the muscatel Now how to describe the taste. It has a medium mouthfeel and a muscatel comes thru with every sip. Each sip is layered. There is a bit of astringency at the forefront, the middle is slightly flat and then it soars upward with a strong taste of a good red wine which lingers into the aftertaste. I was slightly wary about this tea when no real birthright was mentioned but was very pleasantly surprised by the taste. It really does have the strongest muscatel taste I have ran across in a tea. If this is what you crave for in your darjeeling, I would certainly give this tea a try. I know that this is a tea that I would love to keep in stock. Thanks, Shaiha | |
