This is Glenburn..
Two rivers and a valley, two leaves and a bud… Acre upon acre of rolling tea bush and forest…A house on a hill, a Himalayan sunrise and a tea garden that marches to a century-old beat….

…..a world of fine traditions…
in the hills of Darjeeling, overlooked by the Kanchenjunga mountain range, lies a unique
holiday experience that offers you an opportunity to live the grand life of a tea planter. Established in 1860, Glenburn remains a working tea estate, owned and run by the Prakash family – a dynasty with a 100-year tradition in tea.

The Prakash family invite you to The Burra Bungalow, home to generations of tea planters. Stay in one of four luxurious suites, each with a unique theme, and join your hosts for a drink and a sit-down dinner served in colonial planters’ style.

Glenburn has become a renowned culinary destination, with the vegetables, fruit, herbs and spices used, having been freshly picked from the bungalow’s kitchen garden. This results in some of the finest cuisine found in India! Stylish picnics turn up in the most unexpected of places – home-made delicacies washed down with endless cups of Glenburn tea.

..and spectacular scenery…
Glenburn stretches from a height of 3,700 feet all the Way down to the banks of the two Himalayan rivers, the Rungeet and the Rung Dung, that meander through it. Within its 1,600 acres Glenburn has forests that are a bird watcher’s paradise. Across the river lie the forests and villages of the old royal kingdom of Sikkim, which you can access via a hanging bridge.

…as well as fun and adventure..
Camp out, river raft, fish hike through the forest, wander around Darjeeling town or
Kalimpong, explore the estate in a four-wheel drive vehicle, or simply enjoy the sun with
a game croquet by the river! Visit Camp Glenburn for a picnic, barbeque or an overnight stay at The Glenburn Lodge, by the River Rungeet.

And to complete your Glenburn experience, learn about the fascinating process of tea making. From bush to factory-and into your tea cup at a tasting session, discover what goes into making a fine Darjeeling tea.
Journey to Glenburn
With a car and driver on call, Glenburn is the perfect base from which to explore the entire area in comfort. The estate is an hour’s drive from Darjeeling town, two hours from Kalimpong and three hours from Gangtok. Why change hotels, constantly packing and unpacking, when you don’t have to!
